Margie Bryant

Producer

Margie is a founding Managing Director of Serendipity Productions and has produced and executive produced over 100 hours of factual television mostly in documentary. Serendipity’s projects have been nominated for and won several Awards. These include The Grierson Award for Best Arts Documentary, NSW Premiere’s Award for Best History documentary, Commonwealth Broadcasting Award for Best Human Rights Documentary as well as numerous AFI’s, AACTA’s and Logies.

Serendipity has worked with some of the world’s most outstanding creators including  Academy Award shortlisted director Janine Hosking and Academy Award winning Executive Producers, Cate Blanchett and Jonathan Hughes.

After obtaining the license for Australia, Margie co-produced and Exec produced 49 episodes of the long running series Who Do You Think You Are? on SBS and has produced 3 feature documentaries which have together played at over 30 festivals and been in competition at Hot Docs, Sydney, Melbourne and Sheffield Documentary Festivals.

Prior to her career as an Independent producer Margie worked as a broadcaster at the BBC, ABC and SBS as a researcher, producer and executive producer. She has worked with several of the world’s top content providers including Google, PBS, Channel 4, WDR Germany, ABC America and National Geographic Channel.

Margie has been a representative on the Advisory Board of The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers, SPAA Documentary Panel, and produced and moderated  sessions for numerous industry events. As a judge Margie has served on the Documentary panel of the International Emmy’s, the AACTA Awards and for The Prime Minister’s Literary Awards.
